The figure
$1Bas of 25 Jun 2021Wikidata↗staleEvery figure below names its source and the date it describes.
Drawn on a fixed rule from nothing to $1T. The same rule is used everywhere on this site, so two fortunes compared here can be compared with two compared anywhere else.
The figure
This figure is 5 years old. Large fortunes move with the markets daily and nothing here tracks that, so read it as a record of what was published then, not as a current valuation.

Background
Alfonso Fanjul Gómez-Mena, widely known as Alfonso "Alfy" Fanjul Jr., was a Cuban-born American billionaire businessman, and the eldest of the Fanjul brothers, who control a sugar and real estate business valued at US$8.2 billion. He was often criticized for the constant donations he made to the Democratic Party seeking political favors, and in particular, seeking to ensure the continuation of the governmental price support of sugar that the Fanjul family company, Domino Sugar, most directly benefits from.
